Redesigning the magazine
How it started...
This particular edition of the magazine was made as a collaboration project with a fellow Wattpad partner for a designing competition. Since this was back during the pandemic, we chose the month's topic to be 'depression and anxiety'. I was responsible for the cover page, and a few articles while my partner did the rest. Fastforward a few years later, as I was looking at the past works, I realised that the mag could do better. So, I decided do start a reconstruction project on it; starting with the cover page!
Cover tweaking
The cover page didn't require many changes, however, I thought perhaps I overdid it somehow. So, I removed a few png's that were extra and also because they crowded the picture too much. I also eliminted unrelated text that was on the left side of the cover replacing it with much more simpler text that was easy to read, an made it seem less crowded.
However, it's important to note the pictures used in the cover are not mine, I do not own them.
Overall, I think both of the covers still look good.
BEFORE
AFTER
changing the interiors
The page design of the original magazine was an arrangement of jpeg images created, and edited in Adobe Photoshop. However, the resolution of some images was crappy, decent enough but nothing extraordinary. The content was also not properly planned, I think messed up somewhere on my part. So, this time I decided to recereate the page design and content to present justification to the magazine.
The new design is made in MS Word as it was convenient enough for me because I decided to write a few articles instead. The image quality and resolution is on clear, and It's less illustrative this time giving it a minimalist look.
It's still under construction, though.
